Name Reservation FAQ

 What's a Name Reservation?

A name reservation is simply a preliminary name search and reservation of your desired business name with the Secretary of State. You are not required to reserve your corporate name before you form your new business entity, however, you are encouraged to do so if you have decided on a business name but will be delayed in forming the business entity. State law allows you to reserve the name even if you plan to wait to form your business entity.
